Opening Event

The Opening Event is targeted towards getting members back into the swing of things. This event is normally played in late April or early May. It is played as a two man scramble. You can select your partner or have the Club set you up with a partner. Foursomes (two twosomes) are selected at random in an attempt to introduce members to other members they may not know.

 

Prizes

Awards are given to the two-man teams for both Gross and Net scores. The top 5 Gross team scores earn an award. The top 10 Net team scores earn an award. Net scores utilize 80% of your team’s average Handicap Index.

Don't forget that raffle tickets are available from the pro-shop personnel. The raffle will be held at lunch.

 

Sign Ups

Sign up for the Opening Event can be done at the pro shop or on our website. The cost is $65 per member ($130/twosome). Sign up starts approximately one month prior to the event. Sign up on our website ends two Sundays prior to the event. Signing up in the pro shop ends the Sunday prior to the event.

 

Event Itinerary

The day of the event you will need to check in. The check in table is located in front of the pro shop. You will have the option of purchasing raffle tickets at this time. A continental breakfast is provided under the tent behind the Royal Green Restaurant. The pro shop will provide some instructions for the day and then begin play with a shotgun start.

Once your round is complete:

  1. Immediately turn in your scorecard
  2. Return the golf cart
  3. Join us for lunch and drink under the tent
    *Since this event is a scramble format there is no score to post to the GHIN system.

Once everyone has had a chance to get some food the pro shop personnel will begin the awards ceremony in conjunction with the raffle.
