Interclub Tournament
This two day event is heralded as “The Ryder Cup of Stamford”. It is an annual event played between the two public courses of Stamford, CT: Sterling Farms and Hubbard Heights. One round of golf is played at each course. Each club is represented by 14 players. 10 Net qualifying spots are open to our Men’s Club members. The Interclub is traditionally held in August.
In 2009, Saturday’s round will be held at E. Gaynor Brennan and Sunday’s round will be held at Sterling Farms. After Sunday’s round there will be a free lunch as well as a quick awards ceremony.
Team
The teams consist of 14 members and include:
- Club Champion
- President
- Tournament Chairman
- President’s pick (*see below).
- Qualifier: Top 5 Net scores from players with course handicaps of 10 and under
- Qualifier: Top 5 Net scores from players with course handicaps of 11 and above
*In 2009 the President’s pick will be utilized to ensure the low gross qualifier makes the team!
Prizes
The winning team receives individual trophies for each team member. In addition, the large Interclub trophy will be engraved with the winning club’s name and go to the Club until the next Interclub tournament.
Sterling Farms has won the Interclub in 2007 and 2008. The trophy is on display at the Player’s Club.
Sign Ups
The cost to sign up for the qualifying round is $20. The 14 team members will pay an additional $20 to help cover the costs of the event.
The team receives a free golf shirt which we traditionally wear during Sunday’s round. The team also receives free greens fees and cart for both days of play.

Once your qualifying round is complete:
- Turn in your scorecard pro shop personnel
(An official Men's Club scorecard(s) with the results of the round must be legible, signed, attested, dated, and include each player's full name, local number, and course handicap) - Post your ESC score to the pro shop computer with a ‘T’
(Ask for help if you do not know how to do this)
(Scores not entered with the "Tournament" designation will be disqualified)
Event Details
- The event is played in a Nassau format; both individually and in a Best Ball of 2 format.
- Each foursome will consist of two players from each club.
- In individual play, each player will be set against a player from the other club who is in his foursome.
- In team play, the two Sterling Farms members play Best Ball of 2 against the two Hubbard Heights members in their foursome.
- Each player has the chance to win or lose up to 3 individual points per day (front, back, overall).
- Each player also has the chance to help win or lose up to 3 team points per day (front, back, overall).
There is a total of 126 points for this tournament.
- 63 points/day consisting of:
- 42 individual points/day (14 players x 3points)
- 21 team points/day (7 teams x 3 points)
63.5 points or more wins the tournament!
