Closing Event
In an effort to close the season with a bang the Sterling Farms Men’s Club has joined forces with the Hubbard Heights Men’s Club to co-host the Closing Event. In 2008, the event was held at the E. Gaynor Brennan Golf Course. In 2009 the event will be held at the Sterling Farms Golf Course. This event culminates another great year of friendly competition between clubs as well as within each club. It is a two man event and you are allowed to select your partner.
Format
The Closing Event is played as a two man “6-6-6” format. Each team of two will play:
- 6 holes in a scramble format
- 6 holes in an alternating shot format
- 6 holes in a Best Ball of 2 format
*The Sterling Farms Men’s Club played this format for the first time in 2008 and has received a lot of positive feedback. It is sure to be a favorite event format for our members in 2009!
Prizes
Awards are given to the two-man teams for both Gross and Net 18 hole scores. The top 5 Gross team scores earn an award. The top 10 Net team scores earn an award. Net scores utilize 90% of your team’s average Handicap Index.
In addition to the Gross and Net awards, the Club traditionally has:
- Closest to the pin on hole 5
- Closest to the line on hole 9
